Sachin S. Sapatnekar University of Minnesota Challenges in Analog/Mixed-Signal Design Automation
Marcel Urban ams AG Magnetic and inductive position sensors for industrial and automotive application. From silicon design to system design.
Richard Shi University of Washington, Accelerating Mixed-Signal Design Verification: Turn a SPICE netlist into a SystemVerilog Model.
Roger Panicacci ON Semiconductor, Innovating Vision Beyond the Human Eye Navigating the Expanding CMOS Image Sensor Design Space.
Following the last 4 editions, SMACD 2018 will also have an EDA Competition. The candidates must submit a 4 pages paper, similar to regular submissions, but will have additional time during the conference to present a live demo. The work will be evaluated by an independent committee.
The competition is co-sponsored by IEEE CEDA and IEEE CAS Society with a prize award of $1000.
This year, we are honoured to have the participation of the following members of the Competition Jury:
- Prof. Dr. Helmut Graeb, Technische Universitaet Muenchen, Germany
- Dr. Vasilis Pavlidis, VP Publicity, IEEE CEDA
- Adam Kubacak, Allegro MicroSystems, LLC, Czech Republic
- Pier Cavallini, Dialog Semiconductor, UK
SMACD and PRIME 2018 are hosting two exciting tutorials for our first day of the Conferences, July 2nd:
"From Power Management to Energetic Intelligence: an evolutionary challenge for students, educators and designers" by Prof. Nicola Femia (University of Salerno).
"Design for reliability: from devices to systems" by Dr. Hussam Amrouch (KIT, Germany), Prof. Montserrat Nafría (UAB, Spain) and Dr. Elisenda Roca (CSIC, Spain)
SMACD 2018 Paper Publication
The conference is technically co-sponsored by IEEE, IEEE CAS and IEEE CEDA. The conference proceedings will be submitted for inclusion in IEEExplore.
SMACD 2018 Best Paper Awards
This year we will have 3 Paper Awards (1 Best Paper and 2 Runner-up Best Papers) as a recognition not only for the best contributions but also for the best presentations.
SMACD and PRIME 2018 Special Issue
The top ranked papers in both conferences PRIME and SMACD 2018 will be invited to submit extended versions for a Special Issue of Integration, The VLSI Journal (Elsevier).
SMACD and PRIME 2018 Company Fair & Sponsors
A Company Fair is being organized to allow academia researchers and Ph.D. students, attending to both conferences (PRIME 2018 and SMACD 2018), to get in contact with industries and other research institutions (and vice-versa) to promote networking and identify future opportunities and collaborations.
We are proud to feature companies such as Dialog Semiconductor, Allegro MicroSystems, LLC and and ST Microelectronics (Gold Sponsors), ON Semiconductor, ASICentrum, S3 Semiconductors and Infineon Technologies AG (Silver Sponsor), and Coilcraft, ams AG, and EUROPRACTICE (Bronze Sponsors).

General Information
The 15th International Conference on Synthesis, Modeling, Analysis and Simulation Methods and Applications to Circuit Design (SMACD 2018) will be held from the 2nd to the 5thof July 2018 in Prague, Czech Republic at the FNSPE, Czech Technical University in Prague.
SMACD is a forum devoted to Design Methods and Tools for Analog, Mixed-signal, RF (AMS/RF) and multi-domain (MEMS, nanoelectronic, optoelectronic, biological, etc.) integrated circuits and systems.
Experiences with modeling, simulation and synthesis techniques in diverse application areas are also welcomed. Objective technologies include CMOS, beyond CMOS, and More-thavn- Moore such as MEMS, power devices, sensors, passives, etc.
